Marching Band's Sunbring and Lind
“All we need are two bikes, one laptop, three microphones and our keen sense of whimsical instrumentation,” says Erik Sunbring and Jacob Lind of Swedish-based indie-pop/rock duo Marching Band. Have band will travel – or march.
They take their marching orders, though, from a keen sense of melody and driving rhythms that seem both new and fresh while echoing a pop and psychedelic past. Vibrant with new energy these songs sizzle with life-force and demand you take note. Or two or three notes or maybe that you just download a couple of tracks and let the notes really sink in. Their new full-length album Pop Cycle comes out this month and it’s said to be a little darker than their last which Rolling Stone magazine termed “pillowy pop”. (I’m not sure, but I think I still hear the pillows on these tracks.)
Marching Band have been featured on this blog before and are often played on Deeper Into Music. With good reason – they are good. Really good. I like ‘em and I hope you do, too. Let me know with your comment.
